The Surfrider Foundation is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s ocean, waves, and beaches, for all people, through a powerful activist network.

Located on the rugged coast of Fort Bragg, California, the 11.5-acre Ocean Science Center site is situated adjacent to recently protected coastal lands. Together the Ocean Science Center and Noyo Headlands Park lead the redevelopment of a 400-acre former timber mill site spanning more than three miles of Fort Bragg’s waterfront.  

The Greater Farallones Association (GFA) partners with Dr. Sylvia Earle’s Mission Blue Hope Spots to protect an expanded 4,600-square mile marine sanctuary network off the California coast. This designation highlights global priorities for ocean conservation, climate resilience, and biodiversity.

Headquartered in Santa Cruz, the Save The Waves Coalition is an international nonprofit dedicated to protecting surf ecosystems, primarily through conservation, coastal management, and community engagement.

The California Coastal Commission and the Monterey Bay Aquarium frequently collaborate on ocean conservation, coastal development regulation, and marine education.

Channelkeeper’s mission is to protect and restore the Santa Barbara Channel and its watersheds through science-based advocacy, education, fieldwork enforcement, and community engagement.

OCMPAC is a collaboration of city and county officials, institutional representatives, environmental advocates, academic faculty, and nonprofit organization members. OCMPAC seeks to provide beach visitors with consistent marine protected area related information throughout the county.
